Also students are truly enjoying the Robotics station as they learn to code and program Dash Robots! All of this while increasing reading and comprehension skills! We now have a new Viewsonic Interactive Viewboard that we are loving too!!! Thank you to parents and families who contribute to our book fair fundraisers and other events that help supply our library with these fun tools.

Welcome back to Mitchell Elementary for the 2012-2013 School Year! We are very excited about some of the new changes this year. One of the most exciting is our new online Catalog. Destiny is a web-based catalog meaning anyone can access it from the Internet. The following link provides access to our online catalog (Destiny) and offers information on all of the books and other materials that can be checked out by Mitchell Elementary School students. You can browse this catalog with your child and help them select "just the right book for him or her ." Click on "Destiny" to go to the Mitchell Elementary Library catalog.

Mr. Graham's Fifth Grade skyped with Mr. Curran's Fourth grade in Detroit, Michigan as both classes read the book Regarding the Fountain by Kate Klise. The students shared their favorite parts from the book and ended the skype session by reading "NEA's Read Across America Reader's Oath.
We were so honored and excited for Mitchell First Grade students to meet and talk with author Hans Wilhelm. He has written over 200 books- some of which are in our library. First Grade students read "I'll Always Love You" and "Wake Up Sun" in preparation for the visit with Mr. Wilhelm.
